Best Prom Flicks

I was doing my usual surfing stuff when I came across this interesting
“Best Prom Scenes of all Time.” It is actually a collection of
pictures taken from some movies and dramas that have prom stories.
Since I don’t know some of them I am not going to mention them here
anymore. Anyway my agenda would be how prom dresses evolve; from not
so distant past up to now. Some of those who made it are, Twilight of
course. Remember the ending scene when Bella Swan takes the dance
floor with her vampire boyfriend. I don’t think people noticed her
gown because the scene itself is even catchier. Then there’s the
well-known High School Musical 3. I’m a fan of High School Musical and
I love all their clothes and fashion style especially Ashley Tisdale’s
role as Sharpay Evans. The last third movie’s wardrobes are among the
best and flashy short prom gowns I’ve seen so far. There’s also the
Prom Night, a 2008 horror flick about a senior who survived a terrible
tragedy. I don’t find the movie appealing and their gowns are the
typical long gowns with plunging necklines, and some beads. One of the
pictures that made my day was Drew Barrymore’s Never Been Kissed. If
you could still remember how geek she was in that film, then what
you’re seeing now from her is a real transformation. Also in the list
is one of those romantic comedy teen movies that caught my interest,
10 Things I Hate About You. Those were the days when Heath Ledger was
starting to gain stardom, in a role of a new kid in town. I never
really like Julia Stiles, I don’t like her fashion statement but her
acting, hands down, is really brilliant. Her prom dress in that movie
was a boring dark dress that resembled much of a sleepwear; thanks to
her not so cool tiara for the accent. The gowns used in Romy and
Michele’s High School Reunion (1997). The tandem of Mira Sorvino and
Lisa Kudrow wearing super shimmery, brilliant and vivid short prom
dresses with matching colorful clunky clogs. It’s true that fashion
never relinquishes because nowadays these clogs are getting into the
lime light again as well as the shimmery clothes. And to top them all,
are the set of ladies in Mean Girls. These mean and fashion savvy
girls just proved that pink really is pretty. I’m still looking
forward to the next prom movie. I wonder how prom dresses 2010 would
look like.

A Very Anticipated Homecoming

I could not believe that ten years had already passed after my high school graduation. It just hit me last night when I received a phone call from my classroom adviser telling me about a homecoming party next month. Back in high school, people knew me as a geek, the president of the Science Club, who barely knew what fashion means.

My mom says I’m beautiful, but I guessed it’s simply maternal instinct just for me to feel good. There was a time I tried to put on makeup but one of the bullies in my class told me that my situation is hopeless.

I think it’s high time I came back and showed them how changed I am now. It is all going to happen this homecoming.

The ugly caterpillar developed into a beautiful butterfly. Thanks to my best friend who happened to be one of the wardrobe stylists of America’s Prom Queen. My job is a news researcher in the same company and we share the same pad so I have all the access to all her fashion stuff. When it comes to looking beautiful I often needed her advice, if not most of the time until such a period that I mastered fashion myself. Aside from regular waxing, the rest is a piece of cake.

However, since I am much preoccupied about homecoming dresses, I still asked her advice and she said promgirl.net has all the answers to all my worries. It’s also where they get the majority of the homecoming dresses and gowns used in their set. She even bragged me about the gown used by Kate Hudson in the movie How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, which is also from the same website. Upon browsing the category of homecoming dresses 2009, suddenly my world stopped when I saw a dazzling green backless gown accented with some rhinestones. It’s just perfect! I told her about my choice right away and she said it was indeed dressed to kill. I was even surprised to have the package sent in less than 24 hours. Now, my only concern is to find the perfect match of shoes, accessories and a nice clutch bag. My friend can’t make it to go shopping with me because they will have a photo shoot. I guess I just have to get some accessories online as well but I’m really cheeky when it comes to footwear so I really have to go to the mall.

Good Fashion Doesn’t Have to be Expensive

Finding affordable evening dresses in high quality used to be a very difficult and sometimes impossible task for me to do… at least until I found the Roman Originals web site. The place virtually has everything when it comes to evening dresses and the quality of their products and designs never really cease to amaze me. The way they create their dresses are really extraordinary, but that is not the best part, because while their dresses are highly phenomenal, they are highly affordable as well. Include the free delivery on orders over £75 promo and you got yourself a quite fine mixture of happiness, tickling your senses. From the last time I checked, they even let their shoppers win 250 every week via VIP Competition, which made me more connected with the product. It is something that is worth recommending and that has been something that I have been doing for quite some time now as a sign of gratitude towards, in my opinion, the best product that ever came out. They gave meaning to the saying that my mother have always told me that good fashion doesn’t have to be expensive… it’s just a matter of knowing where you need to go.

Do’s and Don’ts for Prom Dresses

It’s prom again and it’s time to look for drop-dread gorgeous prom dresses. But for some girls out there finding the right style of prom dresses can be a strenuous task. This is because some don’t know what prom dresses fit your body figure and personality. Prom dresses Jovani, Sherri Hill, Faviana are some of the greatest fashion designers who produce prom dresses that can look great once you find the suitable style.

Sure, there are so many prom dresses and prom advice available in different sources like, TV fashion shows, fashion magazines, vintage images and fresh fashion. But the secret to finding the perfect dress is to look for a fit that go well with your figure. Reality check, dresses worn by models just wouldn’t look right on a teenage girl. However, there are some very lovely prom dresses that surely work well with your own figure; you have just got to find ‘em! Moreover, there are things to be considered when choosing prom dresses. You must consider your height, your curves (or no curves), arms, weight (plus sixe figure) etc.

Some prom dresses make you appear taller while others look as if it shortens your height. For petite girl, a sheath or A-line prom dress is perfect to look taller. The dress should be simple as multifaceted and add-ons will only take away from your height. Don’t get big ball gowns as these will only make you appear shorter.

If you’re one of the blessed ones who have wide hips and you think don’t flatter you, go for a ball gown prom dress with a full skirt. In this way, the eyes focus upward to take emphasis off your wide hips. Go for V-necks, cover larger hips, this cause eyes to move downward. However, if you’re the type who lacks the curves, go for sheath fitted style or A-line dress to appear a little more daring. This kind of design compliments your slender shape as simultaneously gives you the illusion of added curves. Go for halter style and or strapless prom dresses styles to avoid you’re skinny side.

If you wish to hide your tummy, go for empire style waist dresses. This will flattened your appearance and creates more slender and long look while giving you the impression of a flattened tummy. Or you can also wear a dress with a corset which removes emphasis on the tummy and puts more on the bust area.
